The Boston Raptors' Midget Team won the Bronze Championship at The Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament held at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro from July 15th through July 17th.
The Raptors began the Tournament on Friday evening with an impressive come from behind 3-3 tie with the Protec Selects of Somerset, New Jersey. The Raptors were lead by Cam O'Neil (2 Goals) and Chad Thompson (2 Assists). The Raptors played well enough during the tournament to qualify for the Bronze Championship Game.
On Sunday afternoon the Boston Raptors' Midget Team defeated the Connecticut Mongoose 3-2 in a double overtime thriller at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro to win the Bronze Championship Game at the Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament. At 4:04 of the second overtime Raptors' defenseman Jake Matthews scored the winning goal in the Championship Game on an assist from Andrew Grasso. Adam Letarte (3-1-4) was the Raptors leading tournament goal scorer while Andrew Grasso (1-4-5) was the Raptors leading scorer for the tournament followed closely by Tyler Desharnais (2-2-4). In 5 plus games the Raptors allowed only 10 goals. Raptor's goalie Molly Depew posted an impressive 2.17 GAA during the tournament.
