Playoffs Begin Saturday

Thursday, June 21, 2012, 2:59PM

The Valley Spring League Playoffs begin this Saturday. As a result of their first place finish the Raptors ‘01/’00 Pee Wee Team will receive a first round bye. During the regular season the Pee Wees were 8-1-1 and outscored their opponents 50 goals scored to 21 goals allowed. On Saturday, at 6:50 pm in Haverhill, the Pee Wees will play the winner of the Quarterfinal contest between the New England Predators and the Valley Jr. Warriors .

The Raptors ‘97 Midget Team will play their semi-final game against the New England Chiefs on Sunday night at 7:20 pm in Haverhill. The Raptors and Chiefs met three times during the regular season. Although the Chiefs won all three games, the two teams played two 1 goal games and one 2 goal game against each other, this semi-final contest should be an exciting game between two very evenly matched teams.  The winner will then face-off against the Valley Jr. Warriors in the Championship Game on Wednesday night at the Lawrence Valley Forum.

The Raptors ‘99/'98 Bantam Team will play a quarterfinal game against Top Gun on Sunday night at 6:10 pm in Haverhill.  The Raptors and Top Gun met once during the regular season.  The Raptors hope to revenge their earlier 4-3 lose to Top Gun during the regular season.  The winner will then go against the Malden Tornados in a Semi-Final contest on Monday night at the Lawrence Valley Forum.

The final standings in the Squirt Divisions will not be decided until Sunday night when the top three teams play their final games.  The Raptors need to win their final game against the Valley Generals if they expect to hold onto their current first place spot in the Squirt Division.  The Squirt Division will not begin their playoff games until next Friday night. The following is the playoff schedule as it currently exist:
