BREAKING NEWS… ‘96 Midgets Advance to Tournament Finals Today at 3:00

The Boston Raptors ‘96 Midget Team shutout the Protech Selects 6-0 in the semifinals this morning to advance to the finals of the Boston Selects Tournament against All Out Hockey at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Mass. today at 3:00 pm.

 

'96 Midget Team Wins Silver Championship At Skater's Edge Tournament

The Raptors' '96 Midget Team won their last 3 games and captured the Silver Medal Championship at the Skaters Edge AAA Invitational Tournament over this past weekend. On Sunday afternoon the Raptors beat the Protec Selects in an exciting 4-3 barn-burner to capture the Silver Medal.

 

Midgets Enjoy Successful Inaugural Season

Under head coach Jean-Guy Letarte, the Boston Raptors' Midget Team played near .500 hockey going 8-9-1 in it's inaugural season and winning 2 tournament championships along the way.  The Midget's 2011 leading scorer was Adam Letarte (10-8-18), followed by Mike Dee (6-6-12), Andrew Grasso (4-8-12), Tyler Desharnais (6-4-10) and Cameron O'Neil (4-4-8).  Raptors' goalie Molly Depew played solid between the pipes throughout the season.

 

Midgets Win Silver Championship at New England Classic Tournament

Although they started slow, the midgets came roaring back winning 3 straight to capture the Silver Championship of the New England Classic by defeating the Southern Connecticut Stars Sunday afternoon 4-3 in overtime. The winning overtime goal was a beauty initiated by Mike Dee to Adam Letarte who feed Joe Porter for the tournament winning goal. The Midgets advanced to the Silver Championship game as a result of shutting out the Bear Mountain New York team 2-0 Sunday morning. 

The tournament championship was a great team effort. Raptors' goalie Molly Depew played well Saturday while Vincent Rousseau played well between the pipes on Sunday for the Raptors. The Raptors' top point scorers during the August 5th - 7th tournament were Andrew Grasso and Adam Letarte with 3 goals, 4 assists and 7 points each. The Midgets will play their last tournament of the 2011 season when they return to the New England Sports Center in two weeks to compete in the North American Summer Championships from August 19th - 21st.

 

Midgets Win Bronze Championship Game at Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament In Double Overtime Thriller

The Boston Raptors' Midget Team won the Bronze Championship at The Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament held at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro from July 15th through July 17th.

The Raptors began the Tournament on Friday evening with an impressive come from behind 3-3 tie with the Protec Selects of Somerset, New Jersey. The Raptors were lead by Cam O'Neil (2 Goals) and Chad Thompson (2 Assists). The Raptors played well enough during the tournament to qualify for the Bronze Championship Game.

On Sunday afternoon the Boston Raptors' Midget Team defeated the Connecticut Mongoose 3-2 in a double overtime thriller at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro to win the Bronze Championship Game at the Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament. At 4:04 of the second overtime Raptors' defenseman Jake Matthews scored the winning goal in the Championship Game on an assist from Andrew Grasso. Adam Letarte (3-1-4) was the Raptors leading tournament goal scorer while Andrew Grasso (1-4-5) was the Raptors leading scorer for the tournament followed closely by Tyler Desharnais (2-2-4). In 5 plus games the Raptors allowed only 10 goals. Raptor's goalie Molly Depew posted an impressive 2.17 GAA during the tournament.

Sunday afternoon the Boston Raptors Midget Team defeated the Connecticut Mongoose 3-2 in a double overtime thriller at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro to win the Bronze Championship Game at the Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament. In 5 plus games the Raptors only allowed 10 goals. Raptor's goalie Molly Depew posted an impressive 2.17 GAA during the tournament. Raptors' defenseman Jake Matthews scored the winning goal in the Championship Game while Andrew Grasso (1-4-5) was the Raptors leading scorer and Adam Letarte (3-1-4) was the Raptors leading goal scorer for the tournament. At 2:20 this afternoon the Boston Raptors Midget Team will take on the winner of the Connecticut Mongoose vs. Winslow Black Raider Game at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro to decide the Bronze Championship Winner at the Boston Selects AAA Elite Tournament.
